Alexi Serepisos
Kickboxing / Muay Thai Coach & World Champion
Alexi started Muay Thai in Wellington 16 years ago when he turned up to a Muay Thai and MMA gym to try his first MMA class. When he arrived, the gym owner told him they no longer have MMA classes, but he was more than welcome to try Muay Thai. At the end of his first class he told the head trainer that he wanted to fight and within 5 months, he had his first amatuer fight.
Over the next 10 years Alexi travelled the world competing in almost 60 professional fights against some of the world's best competitors. Along the way he picked up several world titles and got to experience fighting on some of the world's top promotions including ONE Championship in Asia, LionFight in the USA and Rebellion Muay Thai in Australia. Alexi is also the only New Zealander fighter to ever compete for a Lethwei (Bare Knuckle boxing) World title, when he travelled to Myanmar to compete in 2016.
Alexi retired from professional competition in 2019 and after some time away from the sport, has come back to CORE / House of Pain where he enjoys sharing his knowledge with aspiring fighters. You can catch Alexi taking technical Muay Thai classes on Tuesday nights and coaching the Muay Thai fight team after our evening classes most days of the week.
Some of Alexi's Muay Thai and Kickboxing titles include:
- WMC I1 Muay Thai World Champion
- IKBF World Champion
- King In The Ring "The Force" Tournament Champion
- King In The Ring 8-Man Tournament Champion
- TBA New Zealand Muay Thai Champion X2
